Welcome to 2Rent ('we', 'us', or 'our'). We operate the 2Rent platform, a rental marketplace that connects landlords and tenants. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your personal information when you use our platform. By using 2Rent, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of our services.

2.1 Information You Provide

• Account information: name, email, password
• Profile information: photo, phone, bio (optional)
• Listing information: property details, photos, pricing, location
• Communications: messages between landlords and tenants

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

• Usage data: pages visited, search queries, features used
• Device information: browser, operating system, IP address
• Location data: approximate city-level from IP address, used only to improve search results. No precise location is stored.
• Cookies: essential cookies for session and preferences. See Section 7 for details.

• Display and manage listings
• Facilitate communication between landlords and tenants

• Send service updates and security alerts
• Prevent fraud and abuse
• Improve the platform and diagnose technical issues

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We may share information in the following limited circumstances:

• Between users: your public profile is visible to others. Contact information is only shared when you initiate messaging.
• Service providers: Microsoft Azure for hosting and storage, and third-party email delivery services.
• Legal requirements: if required by applicable law or a valid court order.
• Business transfers: in the event of a merger or acquisition.

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymise your personal data within 30 days, except where required by law. Listing photos stored in Azure Blob Storage are deleted when you remove a listing or your account.

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Access: request a copy of your personal data
• Correction: request correction of inaccurate data
• Deletion: request deletion of your data, subject to legal retention obligations
• Portability: request your data in a machine-readable format
• Objection: object to certain types of processing

• Essential cookies: required for authentication and core functionality. These cannot be disabled.

We implement industry-standard security measures including HTTPS encryption, hashed passwords (bcrypt), and access-controlled cloud storage. While we strive to protect your information, no system is 100% secure. Please use a strong, unique password and keep your login credentials confidential.

2Rent is not intended for users under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting a notice on the platform or sending an email. Your continued use of 2Rent after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
